Sarah goes to Brussels | Day Two

Places we visited are listed at the end of the post and labelled under the photos as well

My waffles were rather salty that morning but the eggs saved the day so it's ok.

How cute are we? (This makes me miss you so much, hope you're having a nice day)

Sarah goes to Brussels | Day One

It was a pretty long journey by train from Newcastle to London St Pancras International to Brussels so our day started really early. As common as it has been, we used Eurostar (£32 to and £32 back) to get to Brussels. However of course, getting to see Nat is worth the long journey who travelled thousands of miles to get to where we met. Ever so thankful to have you in my life, Nat ♡ We stayed in Meininger Hotel Brüssels City Center for our visit if anyone is wondering.

Price wise: A little expensive for a full time student (but if you're lucky you can get discounts during certain seasons or early bookings would get you a cheaper price)
Location wise: Meh, 30 minutes plus from the train station and approximately 15 minutes to the city (by walking)
Room wise: I'm satisfied because it's clean, well kept, lockers are provided, hot showers and pretty cozy bed.
Service wise: Not too bad, it's ok. Check in was kind of slow but check out was quick.
Facility wise: Waiting area, lounging area, bar and lobby were cozy and comfortable (I think a kitchen was available to use but we didn't exactly explored that area)

First photo I took upon arrival
It almost took us an hour to find the hotel and when we finally did, we got welcomed by this lovebug.
Brussels Stock Exchange

We had dinner at a restaurant that looked pretty decent near the Stock Exchange

Dinner was no doubt satisfying after a whole lot of walking, it was delicious.

dream journal #17

15th May 2014

I woke up in the middle of a huge green field that was surrounded by tall grass and yellow flowers while wearing a floral baby blue sundress and barefoot. I ran to a river nearby and thought climbing up the rocks to the top was a good idea. There were thick vines grown along the sides so I used those as my support. Imagining a green field that was near a river that had rocks which led to a waterfall with a view, that was cool. I don't recall the ending but I think I just sat on top of the rocks and listened to the water rush down one direction.

Sarah goes to Kuala Lumpur

Late night talks by the swimming pool, bowls of glorious kuey teow, running down escalators and through car parks pass midnight, sharing good food and screaming at the hotel television, that's us.

This is the pure nonsense when we're together

I lost one of that pair of earrings. Boo.

Purchase matching shirts? Why not?

Wear them at the same time? Why not?
Wear it out for a movie in the mall? Why not?

It was a short trip to the city to surprise Fiona and run an errand or so. Definitely a fun trip which I did not expect to have because I was never really fond of the city. Special shoutout to maya for taking our group photos and Darren for taking us to places to eat, thanks so much!

Sarah goes to Penang

A little getaway to see another part of the beautiful Malaysia? Why not?

We chose Penang to be our first airbnb experience and I'd like to say I was fully satisfied with the location, price and the process. I booked a place in a condominium by the sea so the view was beautiful and the host was friendly as she can be. I've used airbnb for a couple of times now and both those times were great experiences. I'm not too sure to recommend it to you guys yet because it might not be for everyone but of course, do give it a try. You never know maybe you might like it, it is always nice to try something new. I apologise that I lack photos of the place we stayed but if you messaged me, I would be happy to send you the link of the accommodation. I've also left out a lot of photos from places we visited because I'm a lazy bum to be scrolling through albums at this time of the night so you guys would just have to settle with what I have on my laptop.

I really like how my hair looks like it's at shoulder length, might try it soon.

Questioning the art of this

Only posted this because maya's disturbing us with a voice changer from the toy store.

And yes, we purchased the cute backpacks (and a toy voice changer).

Overall, we had a blast during the trip (well, I did and hope they don't mind me saying that on their behalf). We were dropped off to see temples and places to eat by a taxi driver that we decided to make him ours for the trip so instead of scrolling through tripadvisor, he brought us everywhere he thought we should take a look. Hence, the reason why I did not state the locations we visited because I have absolutely no idea. To sum it all up, it was food food temple food temple food toy store food famous artworks food food and food. Before I forget, it was lovely of Alex and Johan to come have dinner with us on the first night and Weiwei for being just an absolute delight to have around. I'm just so thankful for this trip because I got out so many memories from it. Walks after dinners, peaceful morning swims, card games at home, throwing puns at each other, goofing about like fourteen year olds and basically always having a laugh in each other's companies. It was a lovely trip and of course, not the last because I'm planning on visiting more states in Malaysia with this bunch. Special shoutout to carmy for taking high quality photos, you're my number one. Until then, God bless.
