Sarah goes to Edinburgh

Which destination was next in the list? Well, that's this pretty city of Edinburgh, a little up north from Newcastle. Petra, Leong and I arrived when the Sun was mid rising, hence, the photo above. The sight was just refreshing. We did not exactly have the best weather during our visit but it was tolerable and it wasn't much a bother when we were allowed to witness such beautiful sights of the city area and also the mountain area.

We couldn't stay long here because the wind became too strong for our poor little umbrellas to handle

Not to mention that it was highly impossible to get a photo without my hair in my face
The view from Edinburgh Castle while waiting in line to get tickets for entry
It was an absolutely delight of a sight, I just love wide flat areas where you can overlook the majority of the land
More photos with us girls having hair in our faces

Looking good, Leong (unlike us)

Virgin Money Street of Light
At night, we went for the Christmas market and this scaredy cat rode this scaring ride above
Of course without Petra, I would have never got on it

I am usually up for a challenge to try something new and different (ok, I chicken out alot too), just getting on this ride pretty much made my heart sank down low because I was terrified but you know what, I felt proud of myself for doing so and plus the view was just too hard to look away. I had one hand holding on tight for my dear life and the other covering my eyes but I consistently peeked through because it was an absolute thrill being so high up. Being swung round and round at a fast pace not so much. Plus we were up close to the Edinburgh Tower so it felt like we were going to slam into it. Anyways, Jay came by a little later where we adventure off late night up the hills near the National Monument of Scotland. We had the city fast asleep, no rain or wind to interfere us and just peace and quiet. Pure bliss.

Sarah goes to Nottingham

I have been lagging behind with a handful of drafted posts I have yet to edit and publish but it's going to be served in a sliver platter in the days to come because I finally have some time to spare. Easter break has started for me and I think Newcastle University may be the only one that has a week extra, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I've been having busy weeks for the past couple of months with responsibilities pilling up, as soon I get rid of one task, five pops up. Not to mention, I get myself into situations that requires me to take up the responsibilities. Oh, Sarah.

Anyways, back to this post. Last November, we signed up for the Malaysian Nottingham Games of which took place in Nottingham University. We played mixed volleyball and instead of representing our own university respectively, we were "Private team C". Pretty happy with our outcome because we ended with winning second runner up. It was a real exciting day getting back to the court, dusting off the dust from my volleyball skills that has not been utilised for the past couple of years and just being in a team alongside having friends of ours supporting by the side.

As soon as we arrived, we started spotting all the familiar faces back from our home country

After spending approximately 8-9 hours in the sports centre, we finally could leave. We then had korean cuisine for dinner and attended a house party after. We did not do much exploring for our short trip in Nottingham but we did have loads of fun and made numerous memories with our little adventures.

Yes, I know these cheeky monkeys
Hello mellow gayo mayo, congratulations on attaining the title, ever so proud

Fun little short trip, indeed.

Sarah's halloween in Newcastle | 2015

This was the day before halloween itself. Cassandra and I volunteered to assist the Glow Fun Run that was raising money for blind and partially sighted people. I had a blast lending a hand, meeting other friendly volunteers and also coming across so many enthusiastic participants where even some of them came all dressed up in costumes and beautifully painted faces. It was such a lovely feeling to be a part of something.

I was rather excited to celebrate my second halloween in England as I did not do much for my first one so I thought why not be a little festive and get into the spooky mood. That led me to craving a pumpkin for the very first time. I pretty much picked a cute pumpkin from Tesco Metro, bought craving utensils from Wilko, brought the items home and crave my little heart out. I am and was proud of the outcome of my Jack Skellington pumpkin head.

On halloween day, Cassandra and I once again volunteered to be stewards for a Guinness World Record attempt event held at The Alnwick Garden. It was to have the most witches gathered in one place. Sadly, they did not make it just having lack a couple hundreds. I guess there is always next time but I did have a great time exploring the beautiful garden that was filled with fallen autumn leaves.

And when the sky turned dark, the ghouls and vampires, ghosts and trolls came out of the nooks and crannies of the city out onto the streets and there was us.

Overall, it was a productive halloween which made me happy and content. Until the next post, God bless.

Leong and Jay go to Newcastle

The boys studying in Scotland came down south to pay a little visit some time ago, very long time ago actually. It was also the first time I officially met Jay which I instantly started mocking him so I would be mocking Jay
(second time I've used that pun, I crack myself up)
They came at a pretty good time as well because it was all sun and blue skies

Stopped by the Church of St Thomas the Martyr
It was basically just a relaxing short visit where we brought them around town

Gateshead Millennium Bridge, BALTIC centre and the Opera house

Before we know it, it was time to send off the boys to their bus which was right beside the city library. Not long after, we met up again for another adventure that will be coming right up. Till then, God bless.
