too skool for kool

Hi guys, I miss high school.

I miss my favourite teachers.
Especially my form five class teacher. She was wonderful, funny, taught really well and took care of us like we were her very own children.

I miss the canteen.
My mee whun tofu egg. My egg sandwiches. My strawberry milk. My vegetarian fried rice with mushrooms. My 'air bunga'. My 'jambu'. These were my favourites that I would buy every day of the week.

I miss the events.
Tshung Tsin night. Tshung Tsin star. Teacher's day. Choir competition.
Year after year, we always had to get involved in these events. Half the time it's fun and enjoyable, the other half you just want to chainsaw everybody's heads and feed them to the walkers.

I miss being in a classroom.
Having a different desk every year that I can call mine. Leaving heavy thick textbooks in our desks because we know we won't be studying at home. Doodling on the desk and sticking sticky notes on them. Despite annoying noise from some of the classmates that you want to strangle everyday, I really miss the atmosphere of being a Tshung Tsin student in class.

I miss my classmates.
The different or same people we have to cope up with year after year for 6 days a week for the whole year excluding public/school holidays. Like or dislike them, they were still my classmates. Of course there were times when it was difficult because I wasn't as pretty or popular as I should be to be treated well in class. But however, there were some classmates that were worth to be called friends. The ones that you can talk non stop every period and every recess. I'm very satisfied with the wonderful people that I've met throughout my five years of high school.

I miss wearing a uniform everyday.
I didn't have to care about what outfit should I wear every morning. I didn't have to care if I wore the same top twice a week. I just had to wear the same uniform everyone else is wearing. It made me feel like as students we will always belong to our own school like a family. My white comfy north star shoes that made my feet look smaller than it usually is, I miss them. The only time my shoes were white were the first few days when school reopen. I miss my socks that had the days of the week labelled on them. I wasn't a neat freak like Sheldon Cooper because it was very rare when I actually wore socks that were labelled on the exact day. I don't think wearing uniforms is a big deal. We just had to obey a few annoying rules here and there.

I miss sports day.
Now this I know every Tshung Tsin student can agree, our school always have the best sports day. No matter how great or bad the house colour were doing, most of the time it was just about having a good and memorable time. I've joined the dancing competition for sports day since the second year of high school till my last. The only year that I didn't really enjoy was 2011 but the rest were pretty awesome. We put a lot of effort in every practice to perform perfectly on the three main days of Sports day. All my friends were great in running, so they were always busy for their events. I, on the other hand, is a lazy bum and can't run a race to save my life so I just cheer for my favourite people most of the time. It didn't really matter to me if my favourite people were in another house colour, I just wanted them to win. I hope they appreciated my cheering though(/。\ )

What I don't miss were...
bullies
fussy teachers
disciplinarians
crowded canteen
unfair strict rules
unnecessary drama
waking up 6.30am every morning
the way students judged each other
air cons that break down regularly
loud annoying voices of groups in the class
group projects with people we don't get to choose
smelly toilets with boogers on the walls of the stall
the material of the uniform that makes us sweat like pigs

goodnight
